YOLLO's Code of Conduct

All users of the YOLLO Application and website are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct.

Objective

Our events and online spaces are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, or lack thereof.

YOLLO does not tolerate harassment of users or community members in any form. Sexualised language, imagery, unwelcome sexual attention, or advances are considered inappropriate and may result in action against the offending account in accordance with our enforcement policies.

We also strongly discourage users from providing inaccurate, false, or misleading information on their YOLLO profiles.

Detailed Statement

Examples of behaviour that contributes to creating a positive environment include:

• Using welcoming and inclusive language.

• Using a person's preferred pronouns when talking about or mentioning other members of the community.

• Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences.

• Using gender-neutral pronouns when a person's preferred pronouns are unknown.

• Accepting constructive criticism gracefully.

• Focusing on what is best for the YOLLO community.

• Showing empathy towards other members of the community.

Examples of unacceptable behaviour include:

• Using sexualised language or imagery or engaging in unwelcome sexual attention or advances.

• Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks.

• Public or private harassment.

• Publishing another person's private information, including their physical or electronic address, without their explicit permission.

• Other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

• Dismissing or attacking reasonable inclusion-oriented requests.

YOLLO is committed to protecting members of the community who may be particularly vulnerable to harassment or abuse. Accordingly, YOLLO will not ordinarily treat the following, by themselves, as violations of this Code:

• Claims of "reverse" discrimination, including "reverse racism," "reverse sexism," or "cisphobia."

• Reasonable communication of personal boundaries, such as "leave me alone," "go away," or "I'm not discussing this with you."

• A person's refusal to explain or debate social justice concepts.

• Criticism of conduct or assumptions reasonably perceived as racist, sexist, cissexist, discriminatory, or otherwise oppressive.

Enforcement and Strike Policy

YOLLO may issue a strike where a user violates this Code of Conduct or other applicable YOLLO policies. Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, the following actions may apply:

Once the applicable strike period expires, that strike will no longer count towards the user's active strike total, except in the case of a permanent ban.

YOLLO reserves the right to take more immediate action in cases involving serious or repeated violations. Serious violations may result in content removal, restriction, immediate suspension, or permanent banning without following the strike sequence above where reasonably necessary to protect users, the YOLLO community, or the platform.

YOLLO may also remove any post, comment, profile information, or other content that violates this Code of Conduct or other applicable YOLLO policies.

Reporting and Enforcement

All reports will be reviewed and, where appropriate, investigated. YOLLO may take such action as it considers necessary and appropriate in light of the circumstances, the nature and severity of the violation, the user's strike history, and any risk posed to other users or the YOLLO community.

YOLLO reserves the right and responsibility to remove profiles, posts, comments, or other contributions that do not comply with this Code of Conduct and to restrict, suspend, or permanently ban accounts for conduct that is false, misleading, inappropriate, threatening, offensive, harmful, or otherwise in violation of YOLLO's policies.
